Marquees with Side Walls for Sale: Fully Enclosed, from $199

Every marquee size we currently sell comes with side walls included, at no extra cost. The 3x3m ($199) has three side walls, two of them with arched windows. The 6x3m ($249), 9x3m ($349), 8x4m ($899), 6x6m ($949), 10x5m ($1,599), 12x6m ($1,899) and 12x7m ($2,299) are fully enclosed, with window walls and door panels in the box. Every wall panel is removable, so the same marquee runs open, half open or fully closed.

Which marquee sizes come with side walls?

All eight. Sizes are written long side first, so a 6x3m is 6 metres long and 3 metres deep. Guest numbers match each product page and are based on about 0.6m² per standing guest and about 1.5m² per guest at dining tables.

The only marquee we have listed without walls is the open-sided 3x12m party tent, and it is sold out. To compare cost per square metre and setup times, see the marquee sizes chart, or size off your guest list with the marquee size calculator.

Why buy a marquee with side walls?

A roof gives you shade. Walls give you a room. With the walls on you block wind and spray on the exposed side, keep the low afternoon sun off your guests and hold some warmth in once the evening cools down. Each panel attaches or comes off on its own, so you can drop just the windward wall, keep the long sides closed with the ends open for a breezeway, or zip the whole marquee shut. Many marquees and gazebos are sold as a frame and roof with walls as an extra kit. Ours include them, so the price you see is the price of a fully walled marquee.

Steel frame: how heavy duty are they?

Seven of the eight sizes run on steel frames, and the 10x5m runs on aluminium. Here is what each product page states:

  • 3x3m, 6x3m and 9x3m: powder-coated steel frame. The 6x3m and 9x3m have 2m side walls and a 2.7m peak, and the 3x3m stands about 2.8m to the peak.
  • 8x4m: steel frame with connectors, about 80kg packed.
  • 6x6m: 38mm powder-coated steel poles with steel joint connectors, 78kg frame, 3.5m peak.
  • 12x6m: 38mm powder-coated steel with 1.0mm wall thickness, 160g/m² roof and 140g/m² walls.
  • 12x7m: heavy-duty galvanised steel poles with steel joint connectors, 160g/m² roof and 140g/m² walls, about 194kg packed.
  • 10x5m: lightweight, rust-free aluminium frame.

Every roof and wall is white PE (polyethylene), UV treated and water resistant. That is solid for parties, weddings and market days, but be clear on what it is not. Our product pages do not state an engineered wind rating or a structural certification, so we do not quote one. These are occasional use event marquees, not permanent buildings. As a working rule, anchor every leg and take the marquee down when gusts above about 40 km/h are forecast. Closing the walls stops one side flapping, but it never replaces taking the marquee down. Read how much wind a marquee can handle before your first event.

How do you anchor a marquee with walls on?

Walls catch more wind than an open frame, so anchor more, not less, once they go on. On grass, peg and rope every leg. On concrete, pavers or decking, weight is your only anchor. As a general guide, not a rating, allow about 15 to 20kg per leg for the 6x3m on a sheltered site, about 20kg for the 9x3m and 6x6m, and about 25kg for the 10x5m, with more on exposed sites. Many Australian markets that publish a rule ask for 20kg on every leg, and 40kg per leg once side walls go on.

Our marquee base weights are $129 for a 4 pack. Each pod clamps around a leg and fills with water or sand on site, and sand gives the most hold. The pods are made for 25mm poles. The 6x6m and 12x6m have 38mm legs, so the pods do not fit them: strap sandbags or weight plates to each leg instead. For the 8x4m, 10x5m and 12x7m, ask us before ordering weights. Four weights cover four legs, so a larger marquee needs more ballast on the remaining legs. See how to weigh down a marquee in wind and how to anchor a marquee on concrete or pavers.

Common questions

Do your marquees come with side walls?

Yes. Every marquee size we currently sell includes side walls at no extra cost. The 3x3m has three side walls, and the 6x3m, 9x3m, 8x4m, 6x6m, 10x5m, 12x6m and 12x7m are fully enclosed with window walls and door panels.

Can I take the side walls off?

Yes. Each wall panel attaches and removes on its own, so you can run the marquee fully enclosed, with only the windward side closed, or open on all sides for shade and airflow.

Do the side walls have windows?

Yes. The 3x3m has arched windows on two of its three walls, the 6x3m, 9x3m, 6x6m and 12x6m have church window panels, the 8x4m and 12x7m have cathedral-style window walls, and the 10x5m has window walls.

How much does a marquee with side walls cost?

From $199 for the 3x3m with three walls, or $249 for the fully enclosed 6x3m. The 9x3m is $349, the 8x4m $899, the 6x6m $949, the 10x5m $1,599, the 12x6m $1,899 and the 12x7m $2,299, walls included in every price.

Is a steel frame marquee heavy duty enough for wind?

The frames are steel on seven sizes and aluminium on the 10x5m, but no marquee is safe in strong wind at any weight. We do not quote a wind rating. Anchor every leg and take the marquee down when gusts above about 40 km/h are forecast.

Which marquee with side walls should I buy?

Size it off your guest list. The 6x3m suits about 30 standing, the 9x3m about 45, the 6x6m about 60 in a square room, the 10x5m up to 80 and the 12x7m up to 140. Add about 25% more space for a dance floor, bar or buffet.
