Marquees delivered to Hobart

Yes, we deliver marquees to Hobart: the 3x3m, 6x3m, 9x3m and 10x5m ship free, and the bulky 6x6m, 8x4m, 12x6m and 12x7m cost $120 to Tasmania ($190 for the 12x7m), shown at checkout. Orders dispatch in about 2 business days (the 6x6m, 8x4m, 12x6m and 12x7m are pre-orders, shipping end of November 2026), then the carrier takes an estimated 7 to 10 business days to reach Hobart, the same band as Perth and Darwin. Those are carrier estimates, not guaranteed dates, so order at least 4 weeks before your event.

We are an online-only retailer based in Brisbane, with no Tasmanian shop or pickup. The marquee comes to your door, and it is yours to keep.

Hobart weather: cool, cloudy and rarely dry for long

Hobart's weather is steady rather than extreme. The Bureau of Meteorology's long-term record for Hobart (Ellerslie Road) averages 611 mm of rain a year across about 87 days with 1 mm or more. It is spread through the year, from 39 mm in February to 62 mm in October, so there is no month when you can safely leave the walls in the shed.

Summer stays mild, with an average January top of 21.8°C, and the record counts about 172 cloudy days a year against 41 clear ones. Afternoons are breezy too, with the average 3pm wind speed at about 19 km/h from November to January. Fit base weights before guests arrive. Every size from the 6x3m up is fully enclosed and the 3x3m has three walls. No marquee we sell is rated for severe storms, so take it down if a storm warning is issued.

Marquees in City of Hobart parks: weights, and small only

If you are thinking of a park rather than your backyard, read the City of Hobart's conditions of hire for its parks, bushland, sportsgrounds and open spaces first. They say all marquees must be secured using weights, with pegs or stakes not permitted unless the City grants special approval, and that tents, marquees and other structures must not go up without the City's prior approval. One condition also says any tent or marquee must be no larger than 3 metres by 3 metres. In practice, our 3x3m suits a park picnic, and the bigger sizes belong on private land. Hobart City Council also lists marquees among the temporary structures that can need a Temporary Occupancy Permit, so ask the council before putting up a large marquee for an event.
