Large marquee sizes, guests and prices

Sizes are written long side first, so a 12x6m is 12 metres long and 6 metres wide. Guest numbers match each product page and are based on about 0.6m² per standing guest and about 1.5m² per guest at dining tables.

What size large marquee for 60, 100 or 140 guests?

  • About 60 standing or 24 at tables: the 6x6m, a square room with a 3.5m peak.
  • About 80 standing or 33 at tables: the 10x5m, the only large size on an aluminium frame, and the only one that ships right away.
  • About 100 to 120 standing or 48 at tables: the 12x6m, which gives 72m² of floor space.
  • About 140 standing or 56 at tables: the 12x7m, with two zip end doors and a side door.

Add about 25% more space for a dance floor, bar or buffet. For a sit-down wedding, start from the at-tables number, not the standing number. Our wedding marquees for sale page goes through layouts for 50 to 140 guests.

One large marquee or two smaller ones?

Two 6x6m marquees cost $1,898 and cover 72m², the same floor area as one 12x6m at $1,899. Some of our buyers do exactly this. Here is the honest trade off:

  • One 12x6m: one open room with no gap in the middle, zip up doors at both ends and church window panels down both long sides. Best for a single dinner or dance floor.
  • Two 6x6m: two separate rooms you can set side by side, apart (say a dining room and a bar), or use one at a time for smaller events. Each one weighs about 78kg and is easier to carry and store.

We do not sell a joining strip or rain gutter, so when two marquees stand side by side the gap between them is not sealed against rain. If the event must be one dry room, buy one large marquee.

Frame, weight and setup

The 6x6m and 12x6m run on 38mm powder-coated steel poles, and the 12x7m on heavy-duty galvanised steel with steel joint connectors and a 160g/m² roof. The 10x5m uses a lightweight, rust-free aluminium frame. Every roof and wall is white PE (polyethylene), UV treated and water resistant. These are big kits: the 8x4m is about 80kg packed, the 6x6m about 78kg and the 12x7m about 194kg, so plan for several helpers and a practice setup before the day. Frame details by size are on our heavy duty marquees for sale page.

Large marquees catch a lot of wind. Peg and rope every leg on grass, weight every leg on hard ground, and take the marquee down when gusts above about 40 km/h are forecast. We do not quote a wind rating. Read how much wind a marquee can handle and how to anchor a marquee on concrete or pavers.

Common questions

What is the biggest marquee you sell?

The 12x7m at $2,299. It covers 84m², fits about 140 standing guests or 56 at dining tables, and runs on a heavy-duty galvanised steel frame. It is on pre-order, shipping end of November 2026.

How much does a large marquee cost?

The 8x4m is $899, the 6x6m $949, the 10x5m $1,599, the 12x6m $1,899 and the 12x7m $2,299. Walls, windows and doors are included in every price.

What size marquee do I need for 100 guests?

For 100 standing, the 12x6m (72m², about 120 standing) covers it. For 100 seated at dining tables you need about 150m², which is a 12x7m plus a 12x6m (156m² together, about 104 at tables).

Can I buy a large marquee that ships now?

Yes, the 10x5m ($1,599, about 80 standing) ships free anywhere in Australia and is dispatched in about 2 business days. The 6x6m, 8x4m, 12x6m and 12x7m are pre-orders shipping end of November 2026.

Is one 12x6m better than two 6x6m marquees?

They cover the same 72m² for almost the same price. One 12x6m gives a single open room with no gap, which suits a dinner or dance floor. Two 6x6m give you two rooms you can split up or use one at a time, but we do not sell a joining gutter, so the gap between them is open to rain.

Do large marquees come with walls?

Yes. Every large marquee we sell is fully enclosed, with window walls and door panels in the box, and every panel is removable.
