Most cars, SUVs and utes fit. On grass, stake every foot and tension the cables and ropes. On concrete or pavers, bolt the foot plates down with masonry anchors (not included) or add heavy weights to every leg. Before a forecast storm, strong wind or a cyclone warning, take the roof cover off, because a roof cover catches wind like a sail. A portable carport is sold as a temporary shelter, but if you plan to leave it up long term, check with Brisbane City Council or a private certifier before you set it up.
